Common Stroller Problems
If you want to avoid some common stroller problems, make sure to read this article thoroughly. Otherwise, you could end up with a large mess on your hands.
If you are going to use a second hand carriage, make sure to ask the owner about its complete history. Older carriages may have been recalled awhile ago, so give that manufacturer a call to find out if it is still ok to use. Also, you will want to find out if a second hand one has been updated...newer models are often reviewed frequently, so you could be missing out on some important safety features. It is also a good idea to ask a previous owner if any part of the carriage has ever been replaced in any fashion. Below, you will discover other common stroller problems to be aware of.
Believe it or not, many parents forget to check the carriage to be sure that it is locked prior to putting a child inside of it. Obviously, this could be a big issue if you are in the middle of a crowded area or upon a hill. Another mistake that many parents make is forgetting to check that your child is adequately strapped into the carriage. Sometimes, when you are in a rush, it is easy to forget to strap your child inside of the carriage properly.
The other two common stroller problems include: weight issues and braking issues. Although many parents like to treat their carriage as a shopping cart, it may not be able to take the extra weight causing it to tip over suddenly. Before you buy a carriage, hang your purse (and other items) on the handlebars to be sure that the carriage will not tip. When it comes to brakes, sometimes they can be faulty, it is a good idea to double check them prior to purchase.
As you can probably tell, most of these incidents can be easily avoided. When your child is inside of a stroller, make sure that you check the straps, the weight, the brakes, and be sure to get a complete history of that older carriage.
Since your child’s life depends on it, common stroller problems should be avoided at all costs. Be a responsible parent by researching, checking, and contacting manufacturers if you happen to have a question. In this case, it is far better to be safe than sorry.
